Grounding a 400 amp service with 2 200 amp panels. No way to run a 400 amp service and not split it into two 200 amp panels unless some sort of main disconnect is used. I have to split it to the two panels at that point. This is where the grounding is done not the two panels i just wanted to clear up that that was not the case. I have also been told you need to run 2 4 1 to each panel or 1 1 0 to both panels. It s two separate 200 amp service entrance panels not 400 amp with probably a 320 amp total capacity between the two panels.
200 amp service installation. But i feel both panels must meet the bonding and grounding requirement like they are individual panels is that correct thinking. The electric compnay is running a single 400 amp line to the meter. My understanding is that essentially the panels are totally parallel.
I seen some run 1 4 to both panels for the water pipe ground.
